Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA)

A Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA) is a medical airway device used to keep the airway open during anesthesia, emergency care, or resuscitation. It is inserted into the throat above the vocal cords and creates a secure seal, allowing oxygen or ventilation to reach the lungs without placing a tube directly into the trachea. LMAs are commonly used in hospitals and surgical procedures as a fast and less invasive alternative to endotracheal intubation.
