Bag Valve Mask

A Bag Valve Mask (BVM) is a manual resuscitation device used to provide positive-pressure ventilation to patients who are not breathing adequately or have stopped breathing. It consists of a self-inflating bag, a one-way valve, and a face mask that is placed over the patient’s nose and mouth. When squeezed, the bag delivers oxygen or air directly into the lungs. BVMs are commonly used in emergency situations, ambulances, hospitals, and critical care units to maintain oxygenation until advanced airway management is available.
